Marlexus the Shadow Dragon final concept

Marlexus is a ground-based canine body-type shadow dragon who has vampire-like traits (since she has no wings, she has no relation with the sky unless she has shapeshifted into something with wings). Her first appearance in my series showed her as a winged wolf. However, she's changed a lot over time, and eventually became a shadow dragon when I redid my series. Her set alternate form is a wolf, however. It was her first shapeshifted form ever, so it is her alternate form by default. (this alternate wolf form is shown on the drawing) The form comes in handy, as it is rather misleading compared to her true beastly form.

She can shapeshift into different beings, but can only shapeshift into someone if she has tasted their blood first. If she "samples" the blood from another person after someone else, then she loses the ability to shapeshift into her previous shapeshifted form, so she can only shapeshift to one thing at a time.

She feeds off the fear and negative emotion of others, and uses her shapeshifting powers to cause these fears and emotions in people. Over generations, she has had many different victims whose fear and emotions have fed her strength and kept her alive, these people never knowing her true form. Her weakness is when people do not fear her and see through her tricks, then she gains no energy and may even lose energy.


Marlexus is a villain in The Wrath of Zalamar. She has no mobian form.
