Duel of Power and Agility

Alternate title: A Close Shave. Dur-hur.

Happy Birthday, tmk0009! Given how poorly your birthday went, figured I'd do something really, REALLY nice and full colored! And I wanted to make up for it being late. 
I'm sorry this is late, really wanted to have this posted before midnight today. So now it's two days late. My stupid Windows Movie Maker decided to be a turd and go "Hahaha, I'm gonna not work for Kassi!" when I was saving the speedpaint.


This was one of the most challenging drawings I've done in a while. I see some perspective errors, which are bugging me. But that aside, I feel I've accomplished something a bit different and new for me as far as pushing perspectives go.
They both have very active and dynamic poses that required being redrawn several times (and messed up on Tidas. I believe he's supposed to be right handed? Being a lefty myself, I have a habit of naturally drawing characters using their left hands more than their right).
At least 3-4 hours were put into the sketching and lining, all linework was done by hand in ink pen, and colored in Paint Tool SAI, which was a near whole-day project. All-in-all, I'm very happy with the outcome.


So here's the finished product: Jace and Tidas sparring. I gave some thought to this, and Jace's only real hope of turning the tables on Tidas or at least keeping him on his toes is to use agility and defense instead of his head-on-offense. Tidas is much stronger than Jace. If Jace were to run in head-first as he would a regular foe, he'd be down and out pretty quickly. So he'd have to fight Tidas the same way he fights Dragalfos soldiers I assume, by attempting to run circles and dodge until he sees openings.
Tidas is much smarter than a Dragalfos though, so it'd be a long fight of wits I can guess XD
